WebView is an exciting web-based inventory
view and edit product with an unprecedented level of customization
capability.
No one in the industry that we are aware of has such a flexible
product as WebView.
Our focus in building WebView is to give virually unlimited
control over who sees what, and our advantage derives from
our strategic decision to separate the interface view from
the database definitions that drive the relationships into
your WMS database. Any database that supports SQL (structured query language) can be accessed with this product - Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Access, Oracle, Foxpro - pretty much any database you can think of! You can define what data fields get shown
based on who gets to see what data items. This gives you total
flexibility on user rights to fields, screens, filters and
all the elements comprising the interface. Yet the software
remains true to our goal of an uncomplicated design
philosophy by separating the interface from the underlying
data model. This translates into tremendously
faster customization time.
This product can be configured to use your WMS
ours in case you don’t currently have one. Our WMS has
been deployed in over 300 warehouses and there hasn’t
been a warehouse we couldn’t configure using our surprisingly
powerful and simple WMS package.
We are very excited about this product and have
the passion and commitment to assist you in your choice to
embrace a component that will, without question, raise your
status among your entire customer base. Let’s take a
look at some of the benefits to a web-based inventory
system. Note that while third party logistics needs are addressed, any business requiring inventory managment can benefit.
Web-Based: 100%
Benefits:
• Easy Deployment
• Tight Security Model
• High Visibility
• Improved Productivity
A web-native interface offers some critical
advantages over the more traditional desktop application.
Anyone with a web browser and proper credentials can use your
system, but don’t let that scare you! Read on to find
out why.
Easy Deployment
Easy deployment
is possible because the majority of the programs install
onto only one machine; the web server. Your staff never
has to worry about configuring new machines or installing
special access software for you or your customers. This also
means that you can concentrate
your buying power on one machine when your business
grows, driving down ongoing hardware maintenance costs.
Tight Security Model
Your security worries are greatly reduced because we properly
implement security on three fronts:
• Login Security
• Data Security
• Program Execution Security
Login Security
means that users can only access the application when up to
three layers of authentication are met:
A correct login and password are given.
A user id key is found. It can reside on a CD or on the physical
machine.
The user is authenticated under Windows Authentication.
Data Security
means that users cannot access your data directly…ever!
This may come as a surprise when there’s so much news
about hacking into people’s systems that reside on the
net. We have ensured that no one, including your users and
customers, are ever allowed access to your data; they only
see a graphical representation
of the data served up in a web browser. The application
writes new or changed information back to the server. This
does you one better than client-server systems, which by design,
requires users to have certain rights into your database server
so that data can be updated. Rock-solid
security is one reason why web-enabled applications are becoming
so popular. Users have no rights, no access, and no
way into your data except what we allow them to change in
our program
Program Execution
Security means that the program cannot hang up the
server or interfere with other running programs on your server,
making it “server-safe.”
Why? We chose to write our system using Microsoft’s
next generation .NET platform, allowing us to write much safer
applications. This product is driven 100% by Microsoft tools,
ensuring that your investment
is safe with a proven software leader.
Your IT department is welcome to learn more about this exciting broad-reaching technology.
High Visibility
Because WebView limits what each user sees and
does, it gives you peace of mind while giving them what they
want – access to their information. When your users are your own customers, this helps improve
customer perception by allowing them a controlled way to interact with their inventory. With features such as email triggers based on a certain process completion and color-coding orders your customers entered, you'll want the higher visibility to add to your professional image.
Improved Productivity
Allowing people access to their own inventory and reporting tool reduces call traffic, which increases your staff's productivity while decreasing
delays to your customers in the form of critical information
they request. Because the system opens and closes access as
precisely as a surgical instrument, and because almost everyone
has a browser, you can redefine some of your more redundant
in-house processes through this system, thereby
streamlining your tasks.
System load can be managed centrally in your
IT department. They can perform simple memory and CPU upgrades
to your server, and they can even separate web processing
from data processing using two servers, when demand exceeds
your hardware resources. Further
scalability can be achieved by using Microsoft SQL Server,
which can subdivide the database among several database servers.
Enterprise-class
facilities with hundreds of users can certainly benefit
from the system scalability inherent in this design.
Adaptable Software
Inexpensive software comes with a hidden price:
the cost of modifying all that code to fit your business model.
The better inventory management systems plan for customization
in the key areas that users typically request. The best
systems allow for customization in a simple, standard way
to ensure the most stable, cost-effective methods to give
your exactly what you need. Since inventory operations vary
on a number of contexts, we capitalize on that by ensuring
that WebView can similarly vary on these same contexts. These
include:
• your individual facilities
• groups of users
• individual users
• customers
• inventory product categories
• inventory product items
WebView capitalizes
on context and uses it at every level in the system to dynamically adapt based on who's the viewer and what type of information they are viewing. This expedites the inevitable customizations process that is needed in these areas to match your unique business processes. About 80% of customizations occur in these areas, for which WebView is well-suited. consequently your time-to-delivery (and cost) is substantially reduced

Flexibility
WebView represents a small class of products that break previously held beliefs and conceptions about what is possible. You might even consider it a bit revolutionary! It is important that
the software you choose to both view and edit your inventory
can adapt to fit your business needs exactly. One product, one central resource, yet each group of people who use it see the slice from the perspective that makes the most sense to them. And when they view certain data, they view it from the perspective that makes the most sense for that type of data. Everyone benefits.
Friendly, Rich Application Look and Feel
Let's take searching. For your standard web product - type in your search data, hit the
“Submit” button (submit to whom?), and hope to
see your data, never mind how to navigate it. For Webview - type what you are after...just start typing, and it brings you to the row most closely matching your request. Or you can locate a column and type a few characters underneath its heading in our Matchbox window, and the relavent data appears immediately. You get a smooth, easy interface that everyone can enjoy using.
Matches Your Business Needs
Targeting specific customer service needs and customer needs
means more business for you. Our advantage is how we accomplish
this. We can change what is seen, and what can be done, not
just based on who’s using the system, but on what data
they are looking at, such as what customer, what product group,
what item, what warehouse it resides in. Other vendors do
allow some level of content-matching appropriate to the viewer,
but in order to tightly couple your exact business needs to
the data being viewed, they will require custom coding, which
a) is expensive, b) non-standard, and c) makes upgrading more
difficult. The level of business process matching our software
can be configured to do, out of the box, is unrivaled in the
supply chain industry.
